Early Stages
We worked closely from the very beginning with the clients to lay out the house and coordinate the excavation.

This build takes advantage of modern high efficiency home building practises. Constructed on a slab using an ICF foundation, and heated an cooled using radiant floor heating and high efficiency mini splits.
Using High Efficiency Products
Throughout this custom house build we worked closely with the architect, Jane Wilson, to ensure we were using and sourcing all of the materials specced to make sure the home is going to perform as efficient as possible.
This included using Rockwool insulation in the walls and exterior, blown in cellulose in the roof, Intello vapour barrier membrane and Adhero house wrap.
Letting The Outside In
The house features generous triple glazed windows all throughout the build, but really shows off these windows in the living area. Featuring 6 foot tall triple glazed windows, these bathe the space in light while retaining as much heating and cooling energy as possible.
The windows in the winter let in enough solar gain to heat up the slab to almost not need any heating on in the winter.
Durable Materials
The clients on this project wanted to use as many materials as possible that would require the least amount of maintenance over the course of their lives. They opted for steel roofing and siding that not only looks sharp, but is a nod to the surrounding agricultural buildings in the area.
